    Community Partners

The Pediatric Department partners with many local and regional organizations. The following organizations work with us to offer community learning opportunities to the SUNY Upstate Pediatric Residents.

The McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site provides a safe, child friendly environment for child abuse victims and their non-offending family members. Pediatric residents spend time at this site while participating in the activities of the Child Abuse Referral and Evaluation Program (a medical program for abused children).

WIC is a federally funded supplemental food and nutrition program sponsored locally by the Onondaga County Health Department. Pediatric residents visit WIC during the nursery rotation.

Huntington Family Centers, Inc. Syracuse, NY is a settlement house committed to enhancing the lives of families and children for the future of our community through diverse, year round programming designed to strengthen individuals and families in a safe, caring environment. Pediatric residents have the opportunity for a site visit to Huntington Family Center during their newborn nursery rotation.
