Why Our Volunteers Stay

Hear from students who have found purpose and community through PAA.

Volunteering with PAA connected me with my community in ways I never expected. The children's resilience inspires me every day, and I've gained clinical skills that will help me throughout my nursing career.

Maria Jacobs, Nursing '25

What started as a way to fulfill my CBL hours turned into the most meaningful part of my college experience. The PAA team welcomed me from day one, and I've made lifelong friends while serving our community.

James Thompson, Public Health '24

Being a volunteer coordinator taught me leadership skills I couldn't learn in a classroom. Managing teams, solving problems on the fly, and seeing our direct impact has been transformative.

Sarah Williams, Psychology '23

Nursing Students + Expectations

PAA is proud to offer volunteer experiences that count toward CBL hours. Ask your professor about signing up through the department portal.

Typical volunteers commit to 2–3 hours/month. We also offer flexible one-time event roles.
All volunteers receive orientation training and CPR/First Aid certification opportunities.
Nursing and pre-med students can request hands-on clinical placements supervised by licensed professionals.

Need your hours documented? We provide detailed verification of service hours and responsibilities for your program requirements.
